About
Started studying in 2004 here at the Department of Oriental Studies (still a Diplomstudiengang! Yay!). After a forced break from studying of nearly 3 1/2 years, I am now working on my Mag.phil.-thesis under Prof. Gebhard J. Selz on the topic of {d}lamma(KAL) in the Sumerian sources (ED II-IIIb, Lagash I-II, Ur III); besides focusing on the sign itself, I am trying to figure out how the semiosphere of Sumer conceptualised the function of {d}lamma, mainly within liminal areas.
I am known for my problems with electronic devices [current record: 2 dead PCs, 3 dead laptops, 1.5 dead phones], my interest in LÍL and /dim/, and I also hold the office of ashtray-deity ({d}diddalX(NE)-dab5.ba).
Languages:
German, English, 1337, HTML, LateX (planned: Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, MySQL, PHP)
Sumerian, Akkadian (mainly oB and mAss/nAss, Mari), Ancient Hebrew, Biblical Hebrew, Proto-Sinaitic, Canaanite, Moabite, Phoenician, Latin, Hittite, Ugaritic, Epigraphic Sabaean, Qatabanic, Middle Egyptian.
I'd like to do Hieroglyphic Luwian as well as Ancient Greek if time allows it.
My language-necrophilia aside (I'm sure Fromm would have to say something about that), I like to combine that work with fields like Comparative Neurobiology, Philosophy, and Cognitive Studies as well as borrowing from Comparative Religious Science(s).
Other than that, I have a huge interest in cognitive linguistics, psychology, neuro-cognitive research and modern religions/religious phenomena and western occultism (particularly CMT, GD/OTO, modern conceptions of ghouls and 'Enochian') from the POV of a historian of religion/magick and the relevant semiotic concepts.
Oh, and I *love* footnotes. I tend to wallow in them.
